whenever I was little "the vault" used to scare me so much lol I thought that they would gather a ton of movies and throw them in this giant dark hole in the ground and they were never to be seen again

i thought it meant they were never ever ever showing/selling the movies again and i would get so pressed if i didn't own whatever movie it was yet.

I feel stupid now and please don't judge me, but what does "the vault" mean?

lol you shouldn't feel stupid! it basically just means the movies are going to stop being sold in stores for x amount of years. I think they just do it so you freak out and have to go buy it right now otherwise you won't be able to buy it again til they take the movie out of "the vault" 5 years later
