Once Upon a Time officially renewed for season 2!!!

And the renewal news just keeps rolling out!

It's ABC's turn to announce some good news, this time in the realm of fairy tales. E! News has confirmed that Once Upon a Time has officially been picked up for second season!

We can file this under "not surprising," since OUaT has been a runaway hit since debuting on ABC back in the fall.  And after the finale on Sunday, trust us when we say that here will definitely be a lot to talk about over the summer!

Creator Adam Horowitz broke the news excitedly on his Twitter page today. "It's official -- #OnceUponATime has been picked up for season 2. Thank you all so much for watching, we're beyond thrilled to continue on!"

ABC has been mum on renewals up until now, and there are still many shows awaiting their officially fate, i.e. RevengeHappy Endings, Pan Am and more. The rest of the pickup announcements will surely come as networks prepare for Upfront presentations next week.

Once Upon a Time wraps up its freshman run this Sunday on ABC.

yayyy ^__^

i'm taking this fairytales class for a humanities credit and just wrote a paper about snow white and how she's changed from the grimm/disney versions of the tale to today where snow white is more of a take-charge character--- i'm pretty sure that in all 3 of the latest adaptations snow white like tries to go up against the evil queen herself (mirror mirror, snow white and the huntsman, ouat). where in older versions she just....... slept.

i love it! idk if you're in college or not, but check around your catalog if you are especially for spring/summer because that's when they like to do fun classes they hide from everyone..

it was just like an english class that i scrolled past at first, then my friend pointed out what the focus was... it's really cool; we read a bunch of grimm & calvino tales, compare and contrast, talk about them in historical context, and even watch some of the disney movies in class. best course i've ever taken anddd i'm actually getting A's on papers because i *love* the subject. i wish all my classes could be about fairytales SIGH. i love my major but if i could major in fairytales that'd be way better. idk what career i could get from it besides being like a face character at disney world butttt yeah

lollll i take so many non-major related courses too and am just like w/e it counts towards gen ed!! but that's not an excuse now that i have more than enough humanities and social science credits..oops. lol w/e i like to take things that sound interesting and that i think will be helpful. i'm fulfilling my requirements too, they're just..not my top priority lol w/e i'm making my own way through college i dont need their rules tbh!! if i want to take 6 years to get a diploma and take random classes I WILL god dammit!!

and ia. and fairytales also like are a tool for evaluating the world around us and how culture has changed/stayed the same...

i like when i hear about fun classes. i heard of one school with a course that analyzed buffy the vampire slayer. i remember one at a different campus for my university that was about disney in general--- it was so hard to get into that class that you had to write an essay beforehand for it to get off the waitlist o_o

like idk, most schools have requirements and it would just make things a lot easier on everyone if more schools worked to make courses that are creative and fun. it really leads to good discussions and critical thinking. i love looking at something beloved in a different way. and it's just really cool to spend like an hour talking about 'snow white' and gender roles of femininity lol. feminism and fairytales, my two fave f words~~

vintage is in style~~

exactly like, if i'm going to be putting myself in this debt etc, i'm going to take classes that interest me. i don't take purely fluff classes, all of my classes have some point and i can look at ways they apply to my major and how i can apply them to the field i want to work in (media); but i'm not going to torture myself by lining my schedule with a bunch of requirements, or worse-- majoring in something i hate. idc if it makes my job prospects lower by not choosing a career in the health field~~ like my mom dreams for me like.. if i'm spending this money i want it to be on something that's not going to make me miserable forever. nowwww this paragraph was wayy off tangent lol

take a women's studies class if you want! the classes are usually pretty eye-opening idk. i've mostly learned feminism-related things from other people on LJ and just exploring links (if you lurk ontd_political enough you eventually learn a lot about issues like feminism etc). i like apply feminism to things like how we do on AD, like it's so relevant to all aspects of our lives, in our culture, so why not apply it to disney stuff and have cool, critical discussions about disney stars? i love it when people on here get into discussion-mode. a good discussion post is soooo much better than a stan war imo

ik it's a TV show and a TV show based on fairytales at that so i know nothing bad will happen but henryyyy!!!. i stg i'm gonna smack emma if she doesn't open her damn eyes
hagar_tammaa 11th-May-2012 04:05 am (UTC)
ikr she is so annoying like i know it's a part of her core as a character but so many thing happened and still she doesn't even consider it

Even though the show is based on fairytales it doesn't mean nothing bad will happen. The creators of Lost- you never know what they are up to. I mean the Sheriff died in the ep 7 so you never know! I hope Henry doesn't die, he is one of my favourite characters. I mean yes Emma is annoying at times because we all want her to believe but the show would be done if she believed too early. The new promo looks awesome.

yeah, i meant to add "ik it's a TV show, and a TV show based on fairytales at that so i know nothing bad will happen but then again it's earth where there "are no happy endings"," but that most important part of that sentence was left out. idg my brain. i'm just excited for the finale and thinking a million miles a minute i guess.

which new promo? i'm so bad at keeping up with promo stuff throughout the week, for any show :/ friday is my day off though so time to play catch-up!
