Yeah, and I feel like that's kinda fucked up. I don't think they should have to resort to scandals to keep their names relevant but I guess that's just hollywood.
it's not just hollywood. it's everywhere. think about what we love hearing about politicians. or even in your own class in high school when the juiciest story spreads like wildfire because that's what everyone wants to hear about.
So true, why are we so scandalous? What does people personal lives have to do with their career? When i think about it, i realize we live in such a twisted world.
someone's personal life should have nothing to do with their career, but that isn't how we view people. when society has pinned someone in a certain category, they've put their entire life in that category - both career and personal - and that person must uphold that image. if they don't then they're broken and need to be fixed. if they can't be fixed then they must fall so someone can replace them. either way, they're going to struggle to gain it back and we enjoy watching others struggle because, imo, usually when people who are better off than us struggle it almost gives the sense of satisfaction because they're not doing well. like "this is what they get for having money, a good life, etc"
