Miley Cyrus’ recent film LOL may not have been a Party In The USA for the singer/actress, but it seems it was a hit elsewhere in the world!
The flick, starring Miley and Demi Moore, made only $46,500 in the States during its opening weekend in early May…and wasn’t even screened for critics!
However, it seems the coming-of-age movie faired far better over in Europe, in countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, where it’s been reported as a MASSIVE success!
Very interesting indeed!
In Scandinavia, LOL grossed $1.6 million, which is a pretty big deal for such small countries, and theaters are STILL screening it!
Our source tells us that Miley has a “very large and loyal” fan base over in Scandinavia and that the film’s “European feel” probably also helped contribute to its success!

Considering this, I think her next album will probably do better internationally again like CBT did lol.
miley's movies always perform very well in dvd sales & still consistently make $$
dvd sales (domestic)
The Last Song: $32,976,694
Hannah Montana: $61,006,774
Bolt: $84,038,561
BOBW Tour: $18,216,085
& this movie is supposedly going to be actually marketed by lionsgate's distribution department. they're even giving away copies to fansites, idek lol. i feel like the general public in the US is going to find out about this movie through the dvd promotion. so backwards.
i don't think this DVD will have the success of the above movies that all had a full theatrical release, but it'll probably sell pretty well.
Where did you get the info from DVD sales?
it was in the text tho so i can see how you missed the link :x sorry
yeah, they are pretty much bringing the budget back in overseas right now. the dvd sales are what will probably push it to the "woo it made a decent profit" zone.
Oh my! I was looking for Monte Carlo and it did okay I guess, considering it was her first "real" movie and it wasn't even released in a lot of countries.
Can't wait to see it :)
but whatevvssss
