Debby Ryan Spills Her Beauty Secrets
After spending, oh, we're not even going to admit how long on TheDebbyRyanOfficial You Tube channel (you've got to check out her singing voice), we're totally into Debby Ryan's chill vibe. And now that we've chatted with the Disney star (she's currently on "Jessie") about her beauty routine, we're even bigger fans. Here's what she says about her laid-back style:
What's your beauty routine like on a typical day of filming?
Before we even start with makeup, my makeup artist applies moisturizer, primer, and Chapstick. Then we'll do my hair because it takes for-ev-er!
Speaking of hair: How do you get yours so bouncy?
I skip washing it for two days before filming--it gives my hair some texture and helps it hold a curl. On-set, my stylist sprays each section with hairspray, then wraps it around the barrel of a curling iron instead of clamping it in.
Does all that time in hair and makeup become a total gab fest?
Absolutely! It's just like being at a salon, chatting with the stylist about what you're going through that week. I love my makeup and hair pros; they won't do things that dry my hair out or make my skin breakout just for the sake of the show. They really take care of me.
What are some of your must have beauty products for summer?
I've never been too into makeup and like to keep things pretty natural so I'm a big fan of lip balm. I'm in love with one I found in Australia called Pawpaw Papaya Ointment. Also: Youngblood Lunar Dust--it's a aluminizing powder that makes my skin look like a golden diamond!
Since I spend a lot of time outside and in the pool, I use L'Oreal's Sublime Sun Advanced Sunscreen Mist, which makes my skin silky, and I rub conditioner into the ends of my hair so it doesn't get wrecked by the chlorine and sun.
Off-topic: What do you do for fun?
I don't have much spare time but when I do, I'm with my brother at home making music and covering songs. We sing all the time. It's kind of cheesy, but fun! Anywhere we go, we'll start banging out a rhythm, so we started videotaping them and putting them on You Tube. I've also recently partnered with Free The Children to help rebuild communities in India.
